Import a Hyundai i10 from Germany

Often, yes: of the 5 Hyundai i10 we have analysed, 3 come out cheaper than the same car in Portugal after every tax and fee, by €1,527 on average. It depends on the engine (ISV) and on how much the same car costs here, so check each car’s total.

ISV depends on the version: engine size, CO₂ emissions (WLTP or NEDC), fuel and the car’s age. Electric versions are exempt and plug-in hybrids with at least 50 km of electric range may pay a reduced rate. Use the ISV calculator with the figures from the registration document or the COC.

German adverts list it as “i10”. We search the German marketplaces under that name and match each advert to comparable cars for sale in Portugal.

The German registration documents (Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I and II), the invoice or purchase contract and ideally the Certificate of Conformity (COC). With them you file the customs declaration (DAV), pass the type-B inspection and register the car.
